Featured Guest Winn Roberton Mixologist from Bourbon Steak A native of the Washington, D.C. area, Winn Roberton always found himself enthralled by food, geography and foreign languages, so it’s no surprise that wine and spirits became his passion. Working in restaurants while attaining a music degree at Penn State, he found himself lost in maps of France, Italy and California and subsequently honed his service skills as a server and bartender in Las Vegas’ mainstay restaurants such as Nobhill, Craftsteak, and Carnevino. Roberton is also a regional brand ambassador for Cointreau, and is currently on the wine team at Michael Mina’s Bourbon Steak in Washington, D.C., where he oversees the wine cellar management, staff trainings and floor service. He is currently studying for the Court of Master Sommeliers’ Advanced exam and hopes to make some noise in upcoming sommelier and mixology competitions. Wine Sandwich Tim O’Hare, Regional Director for the Learning & Development Department Charmer Sunbelt Group Tim has a favorite quote from Ernest Hemingway that just about sums up his relationship with wine and grapes. “ Wine is one of the most civilized things in the world and one of the most natural things of the world that has been brought to the greatest perfection, and it offers a greater range for enjoyment and appreciation than, possibly, any other purely sensory thing.” Ernest Hemingway, Death in the Afternoon. Tim has earned Certified Specialist of Wine, Certified Specialist of Spirits, and the Certified Wine Educators from the internationally recognized Society of Wine Educators.
