Sips of the Week
Steve Bahn winemaker at Logan’s View Winery, Glen Rock, PA joined us to talk about this year’s Tour de Tanks events in York County, PA and all along the Mason Dixon Wine Trail. Every Saturday and Sunday in March there are special events and barrel or tank tastings at participating wineries. Find out more and buy tickets by clicking here! We also tasted a few of Steve’s wines and let’s just say we were impressed!!
Logan’s View Winery Pinot Gris, Pennsylvania, $15
Winemaker’s Notes: This semi-dry and medium bodied wine has a mix of fruity melon, citrus flavors, and mineral aromas. Pair with any white meat lavished with lemon and exotic spices. Goes well with fruit salsas and relishes.
Logan’s View Winery Blackberry Nights, Pennsylvania, $16
Winemaker’s Notes: Dangerously delicious blend of Merlot and Blackberry wine will tantalize your taste buds and delight your senses. This wine pairs well with sweet to savory foods.
Executive Chef Daniel Wecker from the Elkridge Furnace Inn joined Laurie with a few of his favorite dishes some of which came right from his own garden! We tasted his seasonal salad with items from the Elkridge Furnace Inn greenhouse and a dish called Lamb Three Ways. Both were exquisite and Chef also brought the Domaine Terlato & Chapoutier Shiraz-Viognier Blend from Australia and the Zenato Ripassa from the Valpolicella region in Italy to pair. These were great and price under $50 on his wine list which we LOVE!
