Sips of the Week
Salton Volpi Chardonnay, Brazil, $15
Winemaker’s Notes: Golden yellow color, clear, bright and transparent. Aroma of walnut, vanilla (hints of white chocolate) and butter. Full-bodied, pleasant and soft on the palate with lingering finish. Pairs well with seafood, shellfish, white meat, pasta with white sauce and seafood risotto. It also goes well with dishes seasoned with curry.
Salton Volpi Pinot Noir, Brazil, $15
Winemaker’s Notes: Ruby color, aromas of blackberries, blueberries, raspberries and cherry, toasted notes, vanilla, smoke and spices; harmonic persistent flavor. Pairs well with light meat, in special chicken, game meat, river fish, salmon, trout, white cheese (Camembert and Brie), pizza and light pasta.
Salton Talento, Brazil, $30
Winemaker’s Notes: (60% Cabernet S., 30% Merlot and 10% Tannat) Clear, of intense purple color. Aroma of red fruits (blackberry, cherry and plum), hints of vanilla, coconut, nuts and mint. When consumed it’s elegant, full-bodied, with smooth prominent tannins and harmonious lingering aftertaste. Great structure for aging. Pairs well with red and game meat, strong cheese and pasta with red sauce.
