Let’s travel south of the border and explore the wines of Andes–Argentina & Chile. Close in proximity but diverse in climate these two countries will make for a delicious comparison wine tasting. Join Laurie for a “taste” of South America from Chilean Sauvignon Blancs to Argentine Malbecs as we tour this region by glass!

Laurie will be joined by Liz Caskey–A chef, wine expert, food writer, and entrepreneur, Liz Caskey is the co-founder and CEO of Liz Caskey Culinary & Wine Experiences, a boutique travel design firm based in Santiago, Chile. Liz will share her deep knowledge of the wine scene in Chile and Argentina which has garnered her recognition as a top travel expert for South America by Conde Nast and Travel & Leisure magazine.

More About Liz Caskey:

A chef, wine expert, food writer, and entrepreneur, Liz Caskey is the co-founder and CEO of Liz Caskey Culinary & Wine Experiences, a boutique travel design firm based in Santiago, Chile.

A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, this former investment banker has been an influential part of the culinary landscape in South America for over fifteen years when she left the world of finance to follow her passion for food and wine.

With her Chilean husband and business partner, Francisco Ramirez, Liz Caskey Culinary & Wine Experiences crafts curated culinary and wine experiences in Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, and Colombia. They are profiled as a top travel advisor to South America by Condé Nast Traveler and have been listed for five consecutive years to the Travel &Leisure A-list for culinary travel in the region. They have also appeared in such publications like Forbes, Luxury Magazine, Afar, among others.

Liz and her husband also write and photograph their popular blog/journal and published Knack South American Cooking cookbook (Globe Pequot Press, July 2010) covering the authentic cuisines of Chile, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, and Brazil.

Liz collaborated as the US culinary ambassador for the Chilean organic & biodynamic winery, Emiliana Orgánico, participating as a Chef in Food & Wine Aspen and Epcot’s Food & Wine Festival. She has also worked on camera and on productions like Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations” for its Chile episode and PBS/Gourmet Magazine’s, “Diary of a Foodie”.

In September 2020, Liz launched her new podcast, In Search of Flavor TM, about all things food, wine, travel, and design in South America. The podcast features with regional creatives and trailblazers who bring their inspiration and knowledge to the table.

Liz’s food and wine philosophy is centered around what’s fresh, in season, and has a story of origin. She is passionate about craftsmanship and cultivating the producer-to-consumer connection. Outside the professional arena, Liz and her husband Francisco love traveling with their two young children, Micaela & Leonardo.
