Sips of the Week
We talked to Christine Molinnes, Export Manager for the Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins du Languedoc, about the wines of the Languedoc. She gave us a good overview of the major regions, grape varieties and why it’s a great place to look for value wines. Red regions to look for include Minervois, Faugeres, Corbieres, Saint-Chinian and Gres de Montpellier. Picpoul de Pinet is one region that focuses on whites as is Limoux which makes some great Chardonnay and bubbly.

Terrior is a concept that means the place where the grapes are grown have a huge effect on the final taste of the wine. He also shared some wine pairing tips for us which include firing up your grills and uncorking a Corbieres!Constance Rerolle of Chateau de l’Engarran talked to us about the wines from the region of Gres de Montpellier and what it’s like to be a women wine maker in France.
