Sips of the Week
This week Laurie sipped some fabulous French Rosé from Robert Kacher Selections that are perfect for summer picnics!
1. Domaine Tariquet Rosé ’11 Price: 9.99 SW Armangnac
Winemaker’s Notes: Tariquet’s Rosé will accompany a starter or main course with ease. A beautiful shade of pomegranate red, with an exquisite, subtle and intense bouquet, this rich, full-bodied wine is fresh on the palate. Mild spicy notes lead to a delightful duo of wild raspberry and flower petals. The fruit is a treat as the wine’s intensity retains an ethereal quality, leaving a trace of rich flavors and salty spiciness on the finish. This is a rosé made from red grapes, using the same vinification process as for white wine. Serve it chilled, before or during a meal. It is excellent with tapas, summer dishes, Italian food, or spicy, exotic cuisine.
2. Domaine Gournier Rosé ’11 Price: 8.99 Costieres de Nimes south of Rhone Valley Winemaker’s Notes: Brightly colored, the explosive red berry fruits in the nose and on the palate are accented by notes of spice & a touch of earth. Fresh and lively, this beautiful dry Provençal-style Rosé is a great addition to the already well recognized Domaine de Gournier line up. Rosé blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache Noir, Mourvedre. All the Sips of the Week are available at Wells Discount Liquors check them out at WellsWine.com
