DESCRIPTION:The Dillard House is celebrating its 100th Birthday by showcasing North Georgia wines with fans and friends. TV personality\, award-winning sommelier and comedian\, Laurie Forster\, delivers an edgy\, off-beat hilarious show where wine meets punchline. Using her down to earth approach to wine education\, Forster peels back the labels of a few of her favorite North Georgia wines while she exposes some the deep secrets of the wine industry and why she thinks its so darn funny! Relax with a glass (or three!) of wine\, because with Forster there are no formalities when it comes to drinking. This is a tasting that will forever change how you look at wine!\n\nWine\, Dine\, and Punchlines is an original comedy show & wine tasting that includes on-stage audience participation. During the show\, Forster leaves no stone unturned when it comes to talking about wine and why we like it. Maybe you love the full body of a Malbec or the smooth buttery finish of a chardonnay. Who knows? Who cares? But by the end of this show three things are certain. You are confident about what you like\, exhausted from laughing and completely relaxed.\nChef Tim Dondero\, Executive Chef of Donderos’ Kitchen\, a family-run international café and market in Athens\, Georgia\, will serve as guest chef for this event. An international medical researcher\, as well as a chef\, cooking teacher\, and food writer\, Chef Dondero’s focus is to delight patrons with exciting\, authentic international food. He has served as guest chef at the Istanbul Cafe and at Cafe 458 in Atlanta\, and has taught international cooking at Evening at Emory in Atlanta and The Rolling Pin in Athens. He has lived as well as cooked in Southeast Asia\, Africa\, and traveled extensively in his work. \nGeneral Admission Tickets: $75 which includes a wine reception with hors d’oeuvres and tastings of 4 wines during the comedy show and 4-course dinner. \nVIP tickets: $100 includes all of the above plus a special hour with The Wine Coach Laurie Forster\, a free copy of her award winning book\, “The Sipping Point\,” while you enjoy one of her favorite sparkling wines. \nITINERARY\n5:30- 6:30 PM VIP EVENT\n6:30 – 7:00 PM Reception with passed hors d’oeuvres and first wine served\n7:00 PM Comedy Show and Wine Tasting.
